IP Rating
IP Rating, Ingress Protection Rating, also interpreted as International Protection Rating. It classifies and rates the degree of protection provided against the intrusion, dust, accidental contact, and water by mechanical casing and electrical enclosures. (Wikipedia)
Two digit of the IP rating is used to indicate how well the design can prevent dust and water getting into the pressure measure instrumentation. First digit of the IP rating number show the level protection of dust, sand or dirt particles penetrating the damaging of the internal components.
Second digit of the IP rating express the ingress protection from water moisure leaking inside and corroding components of the instrumentation. The higher the digits, the better of the protections.
